Recently, I am very busy arranging for my trip to South Korea, which is less than 2 weeks time now. The trip will be from 15th August 2009 until 26th August 2009. It is another backpacking trip again, same as the trip to London and Paris last year.
Arghhh.... So many tourist information to read. The headache part is to plan where to stay, which places to visit as well as to study the map for the journey.
Task 1: Flight booking... done
Round trip flight tickets
Kuching -> Kota Kinabalu -> Seoul (MAS)
Seoul -> Jejudo (ASIANA)
Jejudo -> Seoul (ASIANA)
Seoul -> Kota Kinabalu -> Kuching (MAS)
Task 2: Accommodation booking... done
16-19 Aug. 09: Kara Motel, Seoul ( 90000 KRW for 3 nights, quite cheap :D )
19-25 Aug. 09: Shilla Hotel, Jejudo
25-26 Aug. 09: Amiga Motel, Seoul ( 35000 KRW per night )

This site is very useful to book for budget hotel to stay in Seoul. From July till December 2009, they even provide free airport limousine service for user that has completed reservation through this website (innostel).

Task 3: Itinerary planning ... in the progress
Studying the map at:
http://emap.visitkorea.or.kr/Scripts/EngMap.aspx?beginCmd=mapurl&pos=45712529-13525357
Grateful there's a map in english because hardly can find one online. :)
Task 4: Car rental in Jejudo ... undone
Might be done on the spot when reach Jeju Airport
Task 5: Apply for International Driving Permit from JPJ .... done (on 7th August 09)
Phoned to JPJ as asked about the procedure.
Documents needed are:
(a) 2 passport size photos
(b) photocopied of driving license
(c) photocopied of identifcation Card
I was told by the officer that I can receive the international license after 5 minutes. ( hopefully :) ). As long as I can get it on the same day, then won't be any issue.
Extra:
While browsing for information on South Korea, I came across a forum which informed us about the discount coupons available at some websites. Konest provides many coupon but all in Japanese!~. The list is as below:
